(KTNC) - After a few delays, a new starting date has been confirmed for construction to begin on the Falls City Main Street Revitalization project.
The Falls City Main Street organization says construction on phase one will begin immediately following the Cobblestone Festival on Monday, August 27th. The first phase of the project includes work on the south side of 17th Street from Harlan to Stone and all four corners at the intersection of 17th and Stone. After that block is complete, work will then begin on the west side of Stone between 17th and 18th, and the intersection of 18th and Stone.
Construction was to start July 9th, but work was halted so contractors could determine the exact location of fiber optic cable buried along 17th Street.
As for when the construction will be complete, that has yet to be determined. The original contract called for the first two phases to be complete by October 31st, but that date will be changed.
