Auburn’s Commercial Rehab Committee is recommended funding for seven more projects. The recommendations are expected to be acted on by the Auburn City Council April 9th.
The seven projects total $81,213 and pushes the total funding for the entire project to $333,000 in mixed grant and loan funding. All of the funds have now been allocated for the grant.
The goal of the effort has been to provide assistance to building owners in downtown Auburn to improve appearances, meet code requirements and preserve historic character. The project allocated funds to 25 projects for building rehabilitation. The projects range from replacing storefront windows, roof repair, tuck pointing and some painting.
Building owners will complete the work over the next year and will be reimbursed for project expenses when the project is complete.
