The Peru State Bobcats’ men’s and women’s basketball teams saw their seasons come to an end Saturday, with losses to Evangel University.
The Lady Bobcats fell by the score of 75-59. Katie Potter led Peru State with 22 points, and Jasmine Tate added 15 points.
Peru State ends the season at 5-25 overall and 5-13 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, finishing ninth in the league. The Bobcats’ loss, combined with a win by Graceland University, ended any chance Peru State had of qualifying for the conference post-season tournament.
The men’s team completed its fourth straight losing season Saturday, with a 73-62 loss to Evangel.
The bright spot for Peru State came from Derrick Williams who scored a game-high 20 points to go over 1,000 career points, with 1,008 for his career.
The ‘Cats ended the season with a 3-27 overall record and a 2-16 mark in the HAAC. Like the Lady Bobcats, the men’s team finished ninth in the conference standings.
