(KLZA)-- The Auburn Board of Education this week approved hiring Auburn graduate Grant Cole as a secondary physical education teacher. He has been teaching in Dorchester. Christina Larson was hired to be a Kindergarten teacher. She will replace Christine Ideus who has resigned to take a job at Johnson-Brock.
In other business the Board approved the purchase of a 2014 Chevy Impala from Meyer Earp to serve as a Drivers Education car in an amount of $16,500. A bid to replace carpet in the Middle School / High School Ban room was awarded to Esser Carpet of Auburn. They will also be installing carpet in the Calvert Elementary School Music Room.
The tuition rate for the 2015-16 school year was set at $6,750 per student and purchase orders for the next school year were approved. Superintendent Kevin Reiman said after several years of cuts in supplies, this year the cost was up. A number of policy updates were also approved by the Board.
