(KLZA)-- A Richardson County wreck, involving two pickups at the intersection of Highways 62 and 67, which is the Shubert Corner, Monday morning resulted in the death of the driver of one of the pickups.
Richardson County Sheriffs Department Sergeant Jeff Frederick reports 66-year old Gary Ossenkop of Lincoln died at a Lincoln Hospital following the wreck which occurred around 8 o’clock Monday morning.
Ossenkop was reportedly eastbound and failed to stop or slow down at the intersection. The Ossenkop pickup was hit broadside by a southbound pickup driven by 55 year old Charles O’Grady of Omaha.
O’Grady was described as being stiff and sore following the wreck and was transported to Community Medical Center in Falls City. Ossenkop appeared to have suffered leg and hip injuries and was also transported by Nemaha County Rescue to CMC in Falls City and then flown to a Lincoln Hospital where he later died.
Sergeant Frederick and Sheriff Don Pounds responded to the wreck. Assisting as the scene were Stella Fire, Nemaha County Rescue, Richardson County Emergency Management Agency Director Brian Dixon and Nebraska Department of Roads personnel.
