(KLZA)-- Laura Osborne and Ryan Jones were sworn in as the new members of the Auburn Public School Board of Education Monday night.
During the annual reorganization of the Board Troy Wynn was elected President and Stephen Kennedy was elected Vice President. Outgoing Board members Barb Billesbach and JaNay Oestmann were recognized along with 2014 Board President Mike Zaruba.
A group of patrons and students met with the Board asking them to consider adding baseball as a sport in the Auburn School District for the 2015-16 school year. Superintendent Kevin Reiman said various entities involved with baseball in Auburn including the Ag Society which owns Tushila Field and the American Legion which owns equipment for the summer program say they would support the program.
It is estimated that start up costs would be in the neighborhood of $15,0000. A vote on the proposal will likely occur this spring.
A contract was approved for Julie Bauman CPA in Falls City to provide audit services for the Auburn School District for three more years.
Joe Casey provided information on the Auburn TeamMates Program and Media Center Specialist Julie Lambert provided Board members with an update on e-Books.
A executive session was held to conduct the Superintendent evaluation and to discuss negotiations.
