Watermeier ran for, and was successful in seeking the position of Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee. This committee manages the Legislative Council and determined which committee each bill is referred to and makes appointments to various task forces and commissions.

Senator Watermeier has a new office this year. His office is now on the second floor of the State Capital, room 2000, located on the north side of the building.
