(KLZA) The Auburn School District is in the same boat as many other class C-1 Schools in the state of Nebraska, facing a loss in state aid for the 2013-14 school year.
Auburn Superintendent Kevin Reiman told his board of education this week that the district will lose $185,000 in state aid.
He said he was hoping state aid would remain steady to allow for some local property tax relief.
Reiman said the district will be looking for ways to make up for the lost revenue.
Reiman said last month that summer projects would be held to a minimum this year in anticipation of reductions in state aid.
Following an executive session, the board approved 2013-14 school year salaries for returning administrators. Superintendent Reiman will be paid $110,250 which is the same amount as last year. High School principal Vernon Golladay will receive a $1,500 raise to $87,000 and Director of School Improvement Nancy Fuller will receive a $500 pay increase to $92,900.
