(KTNC) - As construction continues on Falls City’s Main Street Project, officials with the Main Street organization are encouraging people to shop downtown, as businesses remain open for business.
Parking and traffic flow are a concern as the intersection of 17th and Stone remains closed to traffic.
Motorists can turn north from 16th Street onto Stone, drive to the barricade and turn around.
Parking is available in the lot behind Brown’s Shoe Fit and the west end of the SNC parking lot at 18th and Chase. The First United Methodist Church at 17th and Harlan is also allowing people to park in its lot on a short-term basis to do business downtown.
Southeast Nebraska Communications asks those who park in its lot to exit onto 18th Street rather than Chase.
It’s anticipated that the intersection of 17th and Stone will be reopened by next Friday. Construction will then move to the west side of the 1700 block of Stone Street and the intersection of 18th and Stone.
