(KTNC) - The intersection of 17th and Stone in Falls City will be completely closed to traffic beginning tomorrow (Tuesday). The intersection is being closed due to work on Falls City’s Main Street reconstruction project.
To date, work has centered on the south side of 17th Street between Harlan and Stone. Work began last week on installing “bump outs” at the intersection of 17th and Stone, with one lane of traffic remaining open. That lane will be closed as construction begins on the west half of the intersection.
Stone Street will be closed midway between 17th and 18th to the north of the intersection, and midway between 16th and 17th to the south, and 17th Street will be closed to the alley between Stone and Chase.
It’s anticipated that work at the intersection will take approximately two weeks to complete.
Once the intersection is complete, work will shift to the west side of the 1700 block of Stone and the intersection of 18th and Stone. It’s expected that portion of the project will be completed by the end of October.
