Larry was born on December 31, 1943 in Seneca, to Leo and Nora Haverkamp Nordhus. He grew up on the family farm south of St. Benedict. Larry was a graduate of St. Benedict High School and St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee, OK.

Barbara graduated from Hoyt High School. She was a life-long member of the Hoyt community. Barbara was a homemaker and housewife.
