She was born December 25, 1927, on a farm near Capioma, Kansas the daughter of Roy and Susie (McKenzie) McKee. She was a 1945 graduate of Sabetha High School.

She married Joseph Morgan on April 28, 1951. They lived at Springer, New Mexico and Tucson, Arizona, before moving to Sabetha in 1962
