The Auburn City Council leant its support to a proposal to turn a city-owned lot into an outdoor education center for children.
Kim Beger (bee-gurr) and Deb Reiman headed a group that requested city support for turning the lot at 1903 and 1905 N Street into a Nature’s Explorer area for kids in Auburn.
Mayor Scott Kudrna says it would be a nice feature on the square, and many children and families should be able to take advantage of the location. (play audio :45)
Mayor Kudrna says the city would continue to own the lot and the only cost to the city would be an approximately $100 annual increase in the city’s insurance.
In other business Monday, Mayor Kudrna says Norma Baker came before the council to express concerns about truck traffic on G and 10th Street. (play audio :27)
G and 10th Street is one block off the designated truck route in Auburn.
