A 59 year old Atchison man accused of stabbing another man awaits sentencing after pleading guilty to an amended charge.
Maurice Jackson pled guilty to a level eight felony aggravated battery charge before his scheduled preliminary hearing Thursday in Atchison County Court.
Originally, he faced a level four felony charge.
He was arrested February 12th by Atchison Police following an incident with Joshua Holliman of Horton, where Jackson pulled a pocket knife and stabbed him.
Holliman was treated and released from Atchison Hospital after getting treatment for wounds to the nose and stomach.
Sentencing for Jackson is scheduled for April 2nd.
He was able to post a PR bond following his hearing.
