One person was transferred to Community Medical Center with non-disabling injuries following a two vehicle accident shortly past 7:30 Thursday morning at the intersection of Highways 8 and 75 in Richardson County.
According to the Richardson County Sheriff’s Department a Toyota 4-Runner driven by Joshua Mayo, 19, of Humboldt was eastbound on Highway 8 and had stopped at the STOP sign. 60 year old Brenda Sykes of Sabetha, Kansas was northbound on 75.
A witness said he believed Mayo did not see the Sykes car due to the bright sun he was facing when he started to cross the intersection and the accident occurred.
Sykes was transported to the hospital in Falls City by the Falls City Volunteer Ambulance Squad. Others responding to the accident were the Dawson Fire Department and Pro-Med.
