University of Nebraska Extension Offices in southeast Nebraska are teaming up to sponsor the 6th Annual Southeast Nebraska Pasture Management Workshop. The workshop will be held Thursday, March 1st, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Ag Building in Humboldt.
Richardson County Extension Educator Lindsay Chichester and her counterparts from other area offices will provide information on a variety of topics related to pasture management and grazing systems. (play audio :24)
A couple hot topics Chichester says that will be discussed in-depth at the workshop are multi-species grazing and the increasing popularity of grass-fed beef. (play audio :28)
The use of cover crops is also creating interest across the country, and Chichester says it’s especially relevant in light of issues related to last year’s flooding. (play audio :25)
The cost of the program is $15 if pre-registered, or $20 at the door. For questions about the Pasture Management Workshop or to pre-register, contact the UNL Extension office in Richardson, Nemaha, or Johnson County.
