Individuals will be able to apply to become the next Atchison County Emergency Preparedness Director.
In a special meeting Tuesday morning, Commissioners agreed on the job description for the position that will be vacated by Lori Chew, effective the end of the day Friday.
County Commissioner Jeff Schuele says the job should be posted online by the end of Tuesday and other media outlets within the next couple of days.
He says changes to the job description are minimal.

Concerns were raised in the interim on who would handle EMS duties.
EMS services at Atchison hospital and Horton have agreed to assist until the position is filled.
County Commissioner Mike Bodenhausen says a void will affect his second district citizens the most.

Commissioners hope to meet with Chew one more time at their regular scheduled meeting Wednesday to discuss the transition.
There is no present deadline to fill the position.
