Benedictine Splits with CMU
02/19/2012

Saturday afternoon in the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium, Benedictine College hosted Central Methodist University in a basketball double-header.

It was an outsanding shooting afternoon for the Lady Ravens as they hit a season high 11 3-point shots on their way to a 73-55 victory.  BC came out of the gate fast, taking a 21 point half-time lead.  On the day, they hit 54% from the floor and 50% from 3 point range and had the look of a post-season contender.  There was a trio at the top of the scoring column.  Kelsey Wolfe, Kristin Thorne and Rosie Youngstrom each had 12 points in the win.  Benedictine is now 14-12 and 9-6 and looks to have a lock on 4th place in the HAAC.

Central Methodist hit a jump shot with 1.3 seconds left in the game to take a 53-51 win ove the Benedictine men.  Freshman Brett Fischer went 6/8 from 3 point range on his way to a team high 17 points for the Ravens.  BC has a 14-12 and 9-6 record and is in a virtual 3-way tie for 4th in the HAAC and the home game in the tournament that goes with it.

Both teams have three games left in the regular season.  BC will be home Monday evening v. Missouri Valley and home for Senior Night Thursday with Baker University.  Game times are 5:30 and 7:30 and they can all be heard live on KAIR 93.7.
