The Nemaha County Road and Bridge Department will be getting two new motor graders.
At the request of Road and Bridge Supervisor Dennis Ronnebaum, the county commission Monday approved the purchase of a Caterpillar 12M grader at a cost of $88,998 and a Caterpillar 140M2 grader at a cost of $128,400 from Foley Equipment Company of Topeka with the buy back of two 20007 motor graders owned by the county.
In other business, the commission gave County Solid Waste Director Doug Jeanneret approval to purchase a 2007 Ford F250 pickup from Beck Auto Center in Corning for $9,000.
The funding will come from capital outlay funds.
Jeanneret told commissioners he’s not happy with the quality of the dumpsters in recently ordered, which came in last week, and will be sending them back.
He said he would like to purchase different dumpsters from another company that would cost about $20 more per dumpster than the ones previously ordered.
The commission gave Jeanneret approval to go ahead and purchase ten dumpsters at the higher price.
