In other business, two residents voiced their concerns about the condition of 105th Road in Independence Township.
Jerome Scherer said he has to go through Atchison County to get to his property and emergency vehicles can’t access his residence due to the poor condition of the road.
Later in the meeting, Teresa Hegarty held a telephone conservation with Commissioner David Van Laar about the condition of the road.
Both residents were told the road is scheduled for maintenance as soon as weather conditions permit.
Van Laar also held a telephone conservation with Independence Township Trustee Galen Weiland, who agreed to meet with Hegarty and Scherer about the township providing funds to assist with road maintenance.
