Republicans in far northwest Missouri, as with their counterparts statewide, favored Rick Santorum in Tuesday’s non-binding primary election.
In Holt County, Santorum garnered 186 votes – or nearly 61-percent of the votes cast. Mitt Romney received 51 votes, or 17-percent, and Ron Paul received 36 votes for 12-percent of the total.
In Atchison County, Rick Santorum received 175 votes, Mitt Romney 97 votes, and Ron Paul 47. No other candidate had more than six votes.
Voter turnout was fairly light, with approximately nine-and-a-half percent voter turnout in Holt County and 10-percent turnout in Atchison County.
