01/31/2012

An Auburn man faces a drunken driving charge following a two-vehicle accident early this (Tuesday) morning on Highway 136 east of Auburn.
The Auburn Police Department and Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department were called to the accident at six o’clock Tuesday morning.
An investigation at the scene indicated that a semi truck and trailer had been traveling west on Highway 136 when a red Plymouth Voyager minivan made a wide right turn off of Half Breed Road onto Highway 136, striking the truck.  No one was injured in the crash.
The driver of the Voyager, identified as 25-year-old Nathan Daarud of Auburn was arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  The motor vehicle accident report indicated that Daarud’s breath alcohol content was measured to be point-255 percent, more than three times the legal limit.
