Construction work on the arch span section for the new US-59 Amelia Earhart Bridge project in Atchison is currently underway.
According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, construction crews along with several cranes are back on the Kansas side of the Missouri River bridge replacement project and mid-week this week crews began installing several large sections of the arch span section on the new bridge.
The first arch rib portion was bolted into place on Wednesday.
