Northwest Missouri Field Day Event Scheduled
08/15/2017

(KLZA)-- The Graves-Chapple Research Center field day will be Tuesday, August 22 with tours beginning at 8:00 a.m.

This year there will be a special focus on dicamba, a herbicide used to control broadleaf weeds in corn and a variety of other food and feed crops. Three tour stops are planned addressing damage, off-site movement and insurance.

Growers who have had injury, or have used the product, should attend to learn about research conducted at the University of Missouri. A lunch will be served and there will be a question and answer session with University of Missouri State Weed Scientist Dr. Kevin Bradley.

Corn disease management, strategies for controlling marestail, local insect issues, cash rent, nitrogen application and timing in tight budgets and soil health will also be discussed.

Area growers are invited to attend the event located along Interstate 29.  Exit I-29 at the 99-mile marker and turn east on the blacktop. Before the bluff you turn north and travel three miles along the bluff road.
