(KLZA) Richardson County Commissioners met with Dean Nessen of JEM Restoration Tuesday.
Nesssen presented a proposal to correct some areas of deterioration on the exterior of the Courthouse. Commissioners are seeking informal quotes from companies and will consider quotes at next week’s meeting.
Sheriff Randy Houser met with the Board for an update on routine business in the Sheriff’s Department and Jail. Commissioners reviewed with Sheriff Houser findings of the audit report for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 2012 to determine if the necessary action is being taken to come into compliance.
Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert updated the Board on routine maintenance on county roads and bridges. He reported on the status of several projects including the Preston Road hard surfacing project, the Verdon Northwest bridge project and the Theinen bridge and replacement of the bridge Northwest of Humboldt. Listing several pieces of surplus equipment to be sold by sealed bids was also discussed.
Extension Educator Lindsay Chichester sent a letter to the Board regarding the University of Nebraska at Lincoln Extension assistance for drought issues.
In the afternoon Commissioners met with Emergency Management Director Jim Gerweck in his office. Gerweck provided information to the Board on the requirements to be met by the County Emergency Management Agency.
