(KAIR) -- Atchison County Commissioners re-visited exploration into redistricting in Wednesday’s brief meeting.
This was prompted by a visit from Atchison County GOP Chair Derek Franklin.
County Commissioner Jeff Schuele says a consensus was reached on putting together a committee to determine new district boundaries.

Schuele says they hope new districts can be drawn by the end of 2013.

Franklin mentioned at the meeting that as it stands right now, instead of population being represented in thirds, Schuele’s district currently carries around 45 percent of the electorate.
