Onaga Golf Team Wins Vermillion Invitational

It was Onaga taking home the crown in the Vermillion Invitational golf meet, yesterday as they tallied the best combined six scores on the day in the four team meet, with other individuals competing from the Vermillion school district.

The Buffaloes finished the day with a combined score of 374, which was a total of 17 strokes better than the second place finishers as a team in Valley Heights who notched a team score of 391, to take home second place. Linn took home third with a team score of 401, while Hanover finished fourth with a 452 combined team score.

Top honors on the day went to Brenden Dobrovolny of Valley Heights who took home first place with the best individual round, shooting an 85 on the day, besting the second place finisher by two strokes. Zak Voelker of Linn came in second place with an 87. Onaga saw the most top eight finishers with four; as Devin Schlegal took home third with an 89 and Mitchell Kufhal followed him in fourth with a 94 on the day. Lucas Heiget and Matt Marten both, also of Onaga tallied sixth and seventh place, respectively with and 95 and 96 on the day. Fifth place went to Linn's, Kyle Kolle who shot a 95, while rounding out the top 10 was Valley Heights, Patrick Hale who shot a 97.
