Area Athletes to Compete in Riley County All-Star Game
Greater Riley County Optimist organization will be hosting their sixth annual All-Star game on April 15th at Riley County high school and 23 area athletes will compete in the girls and boys basketball games. Girls matchup will be at 4:00pm and the boys game will follow at 5:30pm.
The game will consist of local basketball players from the Twin Valley League and North Central Kansas League, while also having other competitors from the Mid-East league and a few other schools.
For the girls team the local area athletes competing are: Caitlin Deters (B&B), Kris Haverkamp (Bern), Emily Tucker (Blue Valley), Vanessa Burdiek (Centralia), Michelle Haug (Centralia), Micaella Beikmann (Hanover), Maggie Schotte (Marysville), Maggie Leonard (Marysville), Jordyn Alexander (Washington County), Morgan Bissnette (Washington County), Nichole Boden (Wetmore) and Kelsey Henry (Wetmore).
Area athletes competing on the boys side include: Cody Heiman (B&B), Michael Glatzcak (Centralia), Jacob Broxterman (Frankfort), Jonathan Keating (Frankfort), Brent Bruna (Hanover), Reid Blackburn (Hanover), Tyler Herrs (Linn), Cale Green (Marysville), Riley Falk (Onaga), Mitchell Walter (Washington County) and Derek Henry (Wetmore).
One local area coach will be participating in the game, that is Frankfort coach, Brian Ebert, who will coach one of the boys teams.
