The city of Seneca is taking steps to secure the city’s shooting range in the name of safety.
Seneca City Administrator Tami Haverkamp says the city council Wednesday evening approved a plan to install fencing and a locked gate at the facility located at the city airport...( play audio )
Haverkamp encourages those with questions to contact her at City Hall.
The city’s insurance carrier, EMC Insurance, asked the city to take the steps.
In other business, the council approved the purchase of a new 2012 Grasshopper mower from Bruna Implement of Seneca for $5,500.
It was the lowest among four bids presented by City Superintendent Brian Ruske.
It will replace a 2005 Grasshopper mower with more than 1,000 hours.
