A medical doctor, practicing in both Holton and Onaga, has become the third Republican to seek election to the 50th district Kansas House seat.

Allen filed by petition Wednesday, meaning he will now challenge both appointed incumbent Trent LeDoux and Holton business owner Dan Brenner.
As changes to the federal healthcare system remain closely watched, Allen says it's his background in medicine that will allow special insight into handling the matter at the state level(Play Audio :38 seconds)
Along with Medicaid, Allen says following a decade of school board service, public education also remains among his top goals(Play Audio :26 seconds)
Allen, who has practiced medicine in Onaga and Holton for around 11-years, is married to wife Angie. They have six children, four boys and two girls.
The 50th District of Kansas, now sought by Allen, Brenner and LeDoux, currently includes all of Jackson County and a northern portion of Shawnee County.
