Auburn School Board Votes to Extend Superintendents Contract

Kevin Reiman, Superintendent Auburn Public Schools

The Auburn School Board voted Monday night to roll over the contract of Superintendent Kevin Reiman which make the contract a two-year deal through the 2013-14 school year.  A salary will be set later.
    In other business the Auburn Board approved joining the Nebraska Association of School Boards for 2012 with dues of $4,666.  Superintendent Reiman talked about the dues and what the District gets in return.  ( play audio  :20 seconds )
    In other business the Auburn Board approved a contract with NJUMP.  Again the Superintendent explained the reasons for being part of the consortium.  ( play audio  :23 seconds )
    A contract with Beatrice Mechanical for replacement and repair of compressors at two of the districts buildings in the amount of $17,952 was also approved. ( play audio  :29 seconds )
    The cost to take Drivers Education was set at $250 which was the same price it has been for several years.  A request from the Auburn Eagles to use school district facilities for the 4th of July Fireworks Display was approved.
    The 2012-13 school calendar was also approved by the Auburn Board.  The first day for students will be August 16th with the final day for students in the spring set for May 17th, 2013.
