A 42 year old Highland woman awaits sentencing on amended theft charges.
Paige Chalfant pled no contest to a misdemeanor driving while suspended and motor vehicle theft charges.
This was part of a plea deal that dropped the motor vehicle theft charge from a felony to a misdemeanor due to the determined value being less than one thousand dollars.
Chalfant was arrested February 6th by Atchison Police following a traffic stop where they determined that the 1994 Ford pickup she was driving was stolen and that she was driving with a suspended license.
She was allowed to post a PR bond and sentencing will be March 12th.
