Easton City Council to Have Special Meeting on Ordinances

The Easton City Council plans to have a special meeting on issuing new water and sewer ordinances.

They decided this during their regular monthly meeting last night and City Clerk Jere Chieppo says the date will be based off how soon they hear a potential client’s presentation(Play Audio 27 secs)

In other business, the council approved a replacement of a media part at the water plant that will range from 38 hundred to six thousand dollars.

The council hopes that will be a short-term solution to help control the level in tank.

The community center will also see a new tenant.

The center is divided into two sections, one which is the center itself, and the second section will now be the home of Crowell’s Beauty Salon.

Chieppo says the business hopes to be open by March 1st.

The council also heard a letter from a citizen showing concern about their neighbor’s properties.

Chieppo says ordering a property to be a nuisance is more difficult than it should be(Play Audio 20 sec)

The council ordered Chieppo to draft a letter to the property owners asking to clean it up before they go any further.
