A Falls City business was damaged Tuesday when it was struck by an unoccupied pickup truck.
According to the Falls City Police Department, a yellow Ford pickup, owned by Inglis Repair rolled across the alley in the one thousand block between Harlan and Stone Street and struck the Cummings Auction Service building at 1015 Harlan.
The truck’s owner, Jim Inglis, told authorities that he had started the truck to warm it up. He said he had set the micro lock, but the brakes did not hold and the truck rolled into the building.
Damage to the building was estimated at $5,000 while the truck sustained an estimated $3,000 in damage. No one was injured in the mishap and no citations were issued. The incident was reported at 11:30 Tuesday morning.
