(KNZA)--A single-vehicle wreck on K-7 Highway in Doniphan County Monday afternoon left two St. Joseph residents injured.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 25-year-old Kayle Helfery was northbound, just south of 270th Road, when her car drifted left of center due to a distraction in the vehicle. Helfery over-corrected and struck a bridge rail before her car veered off the road into a corn field.
The Patrol says Helfery was injured, but the report doesn’t indicate she was transported to a hospital.
A passenger, 31-year-old Theodore Marti, was transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with unspecified injuries.
Two other passengers in the vehicle were not hurt.
The wreck was reported shortly after 2:00.
