(KNZA)--The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation is providing more than $72,000 to nineteen community organizations.
The funding was distributed Thursday during the tribe’s quarterly award’s ceremony.
The largest donations, $10,000 each, went to the Arthritis Foundation and Washburn University Foundation.
$5,000 donations were provided to five organizations. Among them were the Kansas Senior Olympics, American Heart Association, and National Alliance on Mental Illness ( NAMI).
A committee acts as a clearinghouse for all funding requests and makes recommendations to the Tribal Council.
