Area Track Teams Compete at Lewiston Invite

 Lewiston hosted its invitational track meet Tuesday at Auburn High School. 
 Sterling won the girls’ portion of the meet in a close race, with 87 team points.  Nebraska City Lourdes was second with 84, followed by Freeman with 79 points.  Falls City Sacred Heart tallied 48 points for 5th place; Johnson-Brock placed 8th, HTRS 9th, and Diller-Odell 10th.
 Individually, Liz Railsback of HTRS won the pole vault – with Sacred Heart’s Ashli Jordan and Elizabeth Magdanz tying for second.  All cleared seven feet. 
 Sacred Heart also got a second place finish from Sara Landis in the 100-meter hurdles, and Landis was third in the high jump.  Brandie Westhart of Johnson-Brock placed second in the high jump; and Britney Huppert of HTRS was second in the triple jump.
 Wilber-Clatonia ran away with the boys’ team title, with 113 points.  Lourdes Central was second with 59 points, with Sterling 3rd, Freeman 4th, and Johnson-Brock 5th.  Sacred Heart was 7th with 42 points; HTRS was 9th, Diller-Odell 10th, and Lewiston 12th.
 Johnson-Brock’s Kale Wolken had another outstanding meet, winning three events and placing second in another.  Wolken was first in the 100-meter dash, 300-meter hurdles, and long jump.  He settled for a runner-up finish in the high jump, with Sterling’s Michael Lewis winning the event.
 Ben Railsback of HTRS cleared 11-feet to win the pole vault.  Matt Mullins of Sacred Heart was second in the pole vault, and Sacred Heart was second in the 4-by-800 meter relay, with the team of Chaz Dunn, David Bangert, Austin Martin, and Lane Barnhill. 
 Travis Jorn of HTRS was second in the 200-meter dash.
