Dale G. Fankhauser, 70, of rural Humboldt, Nebraska was born on August 27, 1954, in Humboldt, Nebraska to Melvin and Martha (Jud) Fankhauser. He grew up on the family farm southwest of Humboldt and attended Humboldt Public Schools. Dale graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1973. After graduating, Dale worked as a Deputy for Humboldt and drove school bus for Humboldt Public Schools.

On June 15, 1984, Dale was united in marriage to Suzanne Meyer at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Diller, Nebraska. To this union three daughters, Katie, Adrian, and Lisa, were born. The couple began their marriage living on a farm southwest of Humboldt before buying the farm from Alan Fritch. Dale, along with his brother Ron, started Fankhauser Brothers Trucking. They operated the trucking business while also raising hogs, cattle, and bucket calves together with their family. Dale was very active with his daughters in 4-H and the activities it involved.

Dale passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Pawnee County Memorial Hospital in Pawnee City, Nebraska having reached the age of seventy years, six months, and eleven days. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Lonnie Meyer.

Dale is survived by his wife Suzanne of rural Humboldt, daughters: Katie Meyer and husband Josh of Bern, KS; Adrian Buckridge and husband Josh of Fremont, NE; Lisa Edelman and husband Ben of Bern, KS; grandchildren: Corbin, Chloe, and Callie Meyer of Bern, KS; Charlotte Edelman of Bern, KS; his brother Ron Fankhauser of rural Humboldt, NE; brother-in-law Donnie Meyer of Diller, NE; sister-in-law Sharon Baglyos and husband Paul of Baltimore, MD; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the United Methodist Church in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Howard Blecha officiating. Interment will immediately follow services at the Humboldt Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2024, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt. Family will greet friends from 2-4 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorials contributions may be given to the family's choice with a later designation.
