Carolyn Sue Rottman, 81, of Juniata, Nebraska passed peacefully in her home on Monday, October 14, 2024.

She was the first born to Dr. Robert J. and Leota Uhri on August 1, 1943. Carolyn graduated from Table Rock High School in 1961. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and went on to earn Master’s Degrees from Emporia State University in 1971.

Carolyn was a passionate educator, teaching a variety of subjects at multiple schools throughout Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas for nearly 40 years, as well as having worked for the United States Government in Heidelberg, Germany beginning in 1966.

An accomplished musician, Carolyn shared her talents in churches, community theater, youth and adult choirs, weddings, funerals, and pageants for more than 65 years. Carolyn was a gifted seamstress as well as being an avid gardener, relishing her time outdoors. She was a proud member of many organizations, including LWML, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Red Hat Society.

A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Grandma Sue is survived and will be sorely missed by her daughters: Cara Fisher and husband Kurt of Juniata, NE; Ellen Tilghman and husband Matt of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren: Jordan Fisher of Iowa City, IA; Mercedes (Fisher) and Mike Lindgren of Hickman, NE; Madison Tilghman of Lincoln, NE; Alexis Fisher of Hickman, NE; Jenna Fisher of Juniata, NE; Mason Tilghman of Lincoln, NE; sister-in-law Jackie Uhri, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Bob and Bill Uhri, and her sister Meri Lou Guenther.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Church, 837 Chestnut Ave, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services.

Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Humboldt Cemetery in Humboldt, Nebraska.
