Lola was born on September 21, 1934, in Leavenworth, KS, the daughter of Joseph Inojos and Carmen (Gutierrez) Inojos. She graduated from Immaculata High School. Shortly after graduation she moved to Atchison and started working at Kresge’s in Atchison where she met Gilbert. They united in marriage on July 28, 1956, and shared over sixty-six years of marriage before his passing on August 22, 2022. Lola devoted her life to her family as a wife, mother, homemaker and then grandma. She loved going dancing with Gilbert in their younger years. Lola also enjoyed walking in the mornings with her friends, Mrs. Dolly Hiner and Mrs. Helen Lopez. When Daylight Donuts came to Atchison, they walked to the donut shop and that’s where you would see them every morning. When Gilbert retired, he joined them but they rode instead. Lola looked forward to every summer when her two grandsons from Texas would come to spend the summer with her and Gilbert. To date these grandsons still love going to the donut shop.
She is survived by her children, a daughter, Lisa Vargas, Fort Worth, TX; two sons, Jim (Karen) Gasper, Bonner Springs, KS, Anthony “Tony” Gasper, Atchison, KS; one brother, William (Betty) Inojos, Leavenworth, KS; six grandchildren, Ricky Gasper, Lance Gasper, Nico Gasper, Kyler Vargas, Keegan Vargas, Doug Landrum; and four great grandchildren, Octavian Gasper, Roman Gasper, Eli Gasper and Katelyn Landrum.
