Robert Paul Beightel, 79, of Holton, KS, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024 at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, KS with family by his side. Bob was born June 25, 1945, the son of Gerald Madison and Dorothy Agnes (Kane) Beightel. He graduated from Circleville High School in 1963.

On December 16, 1963, Bob was united in marriage to Linda Mae Allen. They shared over 60 years of marriage. To the union they shared two sons, Gordon and William.

Bob worked for the State of Kansas and Goodyear Tire in Topeka. He worked most of his life as a rural mail carrier for United States Postal Service where he retired in 2006.

Bob was a member of the Circleville Christian Church and National Rural Letter Carriers Association.

Bob enjoyed old country music and he especially loved singing, playing his guitar, and harmonica. He was known for having his annual fall hayrack rides which brought much joy to many friends and family. Bob found immense joy in spending time in nature where he specifically cherished gardening and fishing. He always loved delivering his fresh vegetables to his neighbors and friends on his gator.

Survivors include his wife Linda Beightel of the home; 2 sons, Gordon “Gordy” Grant Beightel (Karen) of Holton, KS and William “Bill” Edward Beightel (Marissa) of Soldier, KS; 4 sisters, Mary Ellen Edwards of Holton, KS, Geraldine Moore of Maple Hill, KS, Sue Wichman of Holton, KS and Virginia Christian of (Steve) of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother David Beightel of St. Louis, MO; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

He is preceded by his sister-in-law, Janice Beightel; 3 brothers-in-law, Melvin Edwards, Tom Moore and Verlin Wichman.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with the burial to follow at Olive Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Mercer Funeral Home.
