Shirley J. Handley, 66, of Wathena, Kansas passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Wathena Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Wathena, Kansas.

Shirley was born on May 18, 1958, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Rollie and Darlene Janice (Higbee) Stewart.

She worked for Wathena Schools as a custodian and nursing homes as a nursing aid.

Shirley married Lynn A. Handley on June 25, 1981. He survives of the home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 infant siblings.

Additional survivors: children, Brian Bayer (Andrea), Ray Handley, and Stepdaughter, Christy Spear (Kyle).

Grandchildren: Dakota, Rachael, Tyson and Ryleigh and great-grandchild, Aspen Kay.

Siblings: Landes Stewart (Henny), Connie Bobby (Kenny) and Mark Stewart.

Uncles: Gary Higbee and Virgil Stewart.

Nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 3, 2024.

At the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home, Wathena, Kansas.

Visitation: 1:00 P.M. 1 hour prior to service. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Thursday.

Inurnment at a later date.
