Cora Ann Bryant King was born December 31, 1933, in Sabetha, Kansas to Vernon E. Keim and Myrtle Eichelberger Keim. She died shortly after being transferred hours earlier to University of Kansas-St. Francis Campus in Topeka. September 7, 2024.
She attended several schools including Sabetha and Hiawatha. She was a member of the Sabetha Wesleyan Church in her youth and returning to the area in 1976, again became a member there. In 2014, she started attending the Eternal Hope Worship Center in Hiawatha. She served as secretary of the Wesleyan Church board for 12 years and taught Sunday School, and helped in the nursery for over 30 years. Cora also served 12 years on the (BCDS) Brown County Developmental Services board, was secretary for the Achievement Services of Atchison for 3 years and served on the NEKCAP Board 3 years. She loved serving the Lord and was devoted to her family, church, and community.
She became a salesperson for King Realty in 1985, and in 1990 became a Broker.
She married Carl E. Bryant in 1950, to this couple five children were born: Dan (Annie), Donald (Linda), Carla (Jim), Christina of the home, Connie, 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Carl preceded her in death in 1974, grand-daughters Jamie and Krystal, and son Dan in 2011.
In 1976, Cora married Ward A. King with his children Debbie (Mark), Diana (Terry), and David were added. Ward preceded her in death in 2004, son David in 1972, her twin sisters, Twila Miller, and her parents.
Also surviving is a sisters in law Arlene King, Frances Wood, and Maxine Newman.
A Celebration of Cora- eternal life is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, September 13, at the Eternal Hope Worship Center in Hiawatha with Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl officiating, assisted by Pastor Andy Smith. Burial will follow at Morrill Cemetery.
Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha after 10 a.m. Thursday where the family will meet from 6 until 7:30 that evening.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Eternal Hope Worship Center or Crossroads Wesleyan Church which may be left in care of the funeral home, 124 S 7th St., 66434.
