Jerry Kramer, 81, Winchester, Kansas passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024.
He was born February 12, 1943, in Mooney Creek, Kansas to William “Bill” Kramer and Eulalia (Schrick) Kramer and was the fourth of eleven children.
Jerry married Bonnie Clinton of Effingham, Kansas on February 13, 1965. Jerry graduated from Maur Hill and served in the Air National Guard. Jerry loved his time as an airline machinist. After working at Twin City Tool for 20 years, he began at TWA in 1988 and retired from American Airlines in 2005. Although he worked as a machinist for his “city career” his true vocation was farming. He was a member of the Mooney Creek Catholic Church- Knights of Columbus, choir and Parish council for many years and served as a member of the Divan at the Topeka Arab Shrine. Jerry enjoyed quietly helping others and over the years shared his talents and resources with the people of the Mooney Creek and Winchester communities. He loved his grandchildren, extended family, his church, baking pies and “real rock and roll.”
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Bonnie Kramer; brothers, Wayne Kramer and Stephen Kramer; sisters, Verda Wolters, Connie Speaks, Janice Firestone, and Deborah Kramer; in-laws Bob and Jane Clinton; daughters, Lisa Silva (Tampa, FL), and Pam BeMent (Basehor, KS); grandchildren, Mary BeMent and Calvin Silva; and multiple deeply loved and appreciated nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Euk Kramer; brothers, Eugene, Daniel and Terrence Kramer and sister, Mary Linda Malicke.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, September 6, 2024, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church Mooney Creek with Fr. William Dun-Dery as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Thursday, September 5, 2024, with visitation following until 8:00 PM at the church. Memorials are suggested to Corpus Christi Cemetery and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton & O’Trimble Funeral home who is assisting with the arrangements.
