Marceda Keim

Marceda Lucille Keim, 88, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha.

Marceda was born on January 26, 1935, in Axtell, Kansas, to Vincent and Lillian (Kotapish) Broxterman. She graduated from Baileyville High School in 1953. She married Dale Keim on April 20, 1991, in Kansas City, Kansas. They made their home in Sabetha.

Marceda was a homemaker. She loved to cook and always sent family and friends home with her homemade goodies. Marceda also babysat and these children and their families became lifelong friends. Marceda was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Sabetha.

Marceda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale, in 2017; her two brothers and sisters-in law, Ronald and Edi Broxterman and Erlan and Judy Broxterman; her sister and brother-in-law, Bonita and Robert Ronnebaum; and her sister-in-law, Donna Broxterman.

Marceda is survived by her brother, Doyle Broxterman of Kansas City, Kansas; her two daughters, Diana (Harold) Hesseltine of Manhattan Kansas and Elaine (John) Mowder of Sabetha; her grandchildren, Brandon (Jyll) Campbell, Nolan (Kim) Campbell, Andrew Mowder, and Melissa (Richard) Young; and her four great-grandsons, Brigan Campbell, Isaac Campbell, and Greyson and Connor Young. Ms. Keim is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sabetha. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Following the Mass, a luncheon will be served in the Sacred Heart Church Hall. A private family inurnment will be held in the Sabetha Cemetery in Sabetha. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
