Helen H. Heinen, 99, of Seneca, Kansas died on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

Helen was born on October 31, 1923 on a farm near Oneida, Kansas, to Clemens J. and Anna M. Strathman Ronnebaum. She attended Old Victor 99 School near Oneida, Kansas.

On February 8, 1944, she married Lawrence B. Heinen at St. Bede- Catholic Church in Kelly. The couple farmed southeast of Baileyville for a couple years, prior to purchasing a farm four miles east of Seneca. They spent many years farming, raising livestock and chicken and gathering eggs together. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 1969; just months prior to Lawrence- sudden death at the age of 56. Helen stayed on the farm until 1978, when she moved into Seneca. Helen was employed by Country View Estates Nursing Home in Seneca, in the dietary department, until 1998, retiring at the age of 75.

Helen enjoyed gardening, a good card game, and playing Bingo wherever and whenever. She kept her mind active with search word puzzles. She was gifted at embordering quilt blocks, and sharing those beautiful quilts with her family. Her favorite treat to make for family and friends was caramel popcorn.

She is survived by two sons, Larry (Evelyn) Heinen and Dan (Kathy) Heinen both of Seneca; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild, that is due very soon.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence on May 5, 1969. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Henry, Vince, Sylvester, William and Melvin Ronnebaum; an infant sister Frances; and sisters, Evelyn Hammes, Florence Deters and Catherine Rettele.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023, at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.

Helen will be buried in Sts. Peter and Paul- Catholic Cemetery in Seneca.

Memorials may be made to the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital Building Fund, sent in care of the family.
