JoAnn Marie Sharp, 94, of Holton, KS, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at The Pines in Holton. She was born November 18, 1928 in Ogden, KS, the daughter of William Joseph and Edna Louise (Thorp) Hannan.

JoAnn graduated from Riley High School in 1947 and cosmetology college in Topeka. JoAnn was a Beautician in Clay Center, a waitress and a housekeeper. Most importantly she was a homemaker and devoted mother and Pastor- wife.

She was a member of Community of Christ; located from her home and Jackson County Friends of Hospice.

JoAnn married Warren “Dean” Sharp on October 8, 1950 in Riley, KS; he preceded her in death on July 5, 2022 after 71 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna Hannan; 2 daughters, Cathy Jo Chandler in 1999 and Arlene Kay Cathey in 2016; son, Gary Sharp in 2019 and a brother, Robert Francis Hannan.

Survivors include 1 son, David Wayne Sharp (Cindy) of Shidler, OK; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
