Meri Lou (Uhri) Guenther, 63, of Lincoln, Nebraska was born to Robert “Doc” and Leota (Trimmer) Uhri on January 3, 1959 in Humboldt, Nebraska. She was born on the day Alaska became a state; she would want you to know that. Meri Lou graduated from Table Rock High School with the class of 1977. She was united in marriage to Timothy Guenther and this union was blessed with three sons; Aaron, Brandon, and Jason.

Meri was a life-long student, always striving to learn more. She attended various colleges, earning degrees in a variety of subjects including Nursing, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Electronics. From a very young age, Meri Lou was free spirited, adventurous, and loved to travel. Throughout her life, she lived in many places; Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, Nevada, Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Puerto Rico. In 11 short years, Meri Lou was blessed with seven grandsons and one granddaughter. Her memory will live on as some of the grandkids have inherited her very memorable, contagious, uncontrollable laughter. Meri Lou passed away on November 4, 2022, in Lincoln, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of 63 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Leota Uhri, and brothers Bob and Bill Uhri.

Left to continue her beautiful memory are her sons: Aaron Guenther and Crystal Yonkey of Lincoln, NE; Brandon Guenther of Lincoln, NE; Jason Guenther and wife Angelyn of Humboldt, NE; grandchildren: Ewan, Abraham, Alexander, Wyatt, Noah, Maylee, Isaac, and Hayden, her sister Carolyn “Sue” Rottman of Juniata, NE; sister-in-law Jackie Uhri of Stella, NE; and countless family and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Howard Blecha officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow services at Mound (Prospect) Cemetery, east of Humboldt, Nebraska.
