Donald Dee McKay, 86, of Donna, Tx passed away peacefully at home on 27 June 2022. Don was born 6 September 1935 to Joseph McKay and Kathryn (Heckman) McKay Ackerman both have predeceased him.

Don went to Highland High School and after graduation he attended college. Don then Honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the late 1950’s. He then worked for a major gas company in Kansas City Missouri. Once retiring from work in Missouri he moved to Texas and was a successful retail sales entrepreneur.

Don’s hobbies were fast cars, motorcycles, and beautiful women. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, easy-going manner and a caring spirit. He was the classic piped piper in every good sense.

Don transitioned to be with God; but has left behind many friends and family who love and miss him very much. He leaves his daughters, (JoDee and Judy), his son-in-law (Kurt), and a wonderful sister (Kathleen Twombly), as well as, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Beginning Saturday, 20 August 2022 Graveside services will be held at Highland, Kansas Cemetery Gazebo at 1030, followed by a Celebration of Don’s life being held at 1130. Military honors a courtesy of Brown County Veterans Honor Guard. The location for the celebration of life is the Fanning Community of Christ Church in Fanning, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly suggests donating to the Fanning Community of Christ Church, Fanning, Kansas sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, PO Box 33, Highland 66035, who is assisting the family.
