Carl " Swede" Lovendahl

Carl  Merril “Swede” Lovendahl, 84, of rural Meriden, passed away after an extended illness on Friday, July 22, 2022 at home.  He was born a farmer and died a farmer. He also worked at the  Goodyear Company in Topeka from 1959 to 1997.

He was a 1956 graduate of Meriden Rural High School. He served in the U.S. Amy Reserves in the 89th Division, Company B, 353 infantry from 1956 to 1964.  He was a member of the Rock Creek Bible Church.

He married his wife of 62 years, Karen Sylvia Keck on July 16, 1960 at Topeka, KS, she survives at the home. He is also survived by two daughters, Kerril (David) Bauerly, Meriden, and Daren (Randy) Penry, Meriden, seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many loving cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl  Derril  Lovendahl on July 24, 1988.  

Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, July 29, 2022 at Rock Creek Bible Church. Visitation will be an hour before services 9:30 to10:30 AM at the Church. Burial will follow at Muddy Creek Cemetery, rural Meriden.
